There are also larger memory cards available that can also add more time to your video storage for use with the Canon Vixia S100. Known as flash type memory, it works like a VCR, lengthening the recording time by using different settings. MPX is the shortest format that takes up the most space. FPX is next, followed by the XP, SP, and the LP or long play extends your recording time the most. Also, using the LP setting reduces the amount of battery power you use, saving your battery power.
